Founded in 2020 by brothers Will and Ben Ellison, Ellison Brothers BBQ is the culmination of generations of Southern bar-b-que tradition. The Ellison family’s passion for bar-b-que dates back to the early 1900s when their great-grandfather and great-uncles smoked whole hogs over dugout pits on the family farm. This time-honored craft was later carried on by their grandfather, Calvin “Cowboy” Ellison – affectionately known as “Pa” – who passed down his knowledge and love for bar-b-que.

The brothers took their family’s legacy to the public when they set up Pa’s smoker at their cousin’s roadside produce stand in Tyrone, GA. Smoking bar-b-que overnight and serving lunch the next day – complete with homemade sides prepared by their mother, Momma Beth – they quickly realized the demand for authentic Southern bar-b-que.

Driven by this overwhelming response, the Ellison family dedicated over a year to perfecting their craft, catering private events while renovating their commercial kitchen, and launching the Ellison Brothers BBQ Food Truck. Since then, they have been proudly serving up slow-smoked bar-b-que and homemade sides, staying true to the recipes and traditions that have defined their family for generations.

From the farm to the food truck, Ellison Brothers BBQ is built on heritage, hospitality, and a deep-rooted love for great bar-b-que — ensuring that these traditions will continue for years to come.
